HOW I GOT SO DAMN GOODE LOOKING:
(So check out these pictures and tell me honestly,
aren't I an EXACT copy of both of them?)
MOM
-
Angelika Gertrude (Hengst) Goode A.K.A. Geli -- that's pronounced
"GAY-lee" Did you know that HENGST means STUD in German? So would I be
too bold in stating how it must "run in the family?"
-
Born April 26th in a year not too long ago (Bet I'm getting mad brownie
points for THAT one...).
-
My Mom's an alien. (You probably always thought she was a bit weird...)
But really, she was born in
Niederhöchstadt, West Germany.
-
Family still over there: Well, I've got 1 set of grandparents-(my Oma and
Konrad); 3 uncles-(Berthold, Raimund, and Rainer); 3 aunts-(Britta, Renate,
and Uschi); 4 cousins-(Michaela, Nicole, Tanja, and Katja).
-
Mom calls me Pumpkin, Big Fart (Dad is Old Fart),
and she used to call me Pudgy (which scarred me as a rather plump
boy of 11 years old). Good thing that I stopped growing out and started
growing up... :o)
-
Mom's just nuts about collecting things (who's mom isn't?) She's got Hümmel
figurines from Germany, these little crystal figurines, spoons, plates,
and christmas ornaments --no pickle ornaments, though :O(
DAD
-
David Nelson Goode -- I call him: Dave, Pops, Pop,
Maynard, or Old Man.
-
Born January 15th, 1951. I'm glad that Dad got out of that "I'm 29 yrs
old and holding" biz... now he's aging gracefully.
-
My Dad claims Hillbilly descent. Born in the foothills of Clarksburg, West
Virginia, so I guess he can claim just about whatever he wants. -- Did
you know that goats there have 2 short legs and 2 long legs so they don't
tip over when they stand on the hills? Well, that's what Dad tells me,
anyway...
-
Family "round these parts": 1 great-grandma (Elanor);1 set of granparents-(my
Papa and Rose); 3 aunts-(Jan, Jeanne, and Cheryl); 2 uncles-(John and Red-what
a crazy man! He claims to be from the ghetto, but check out his CD's and
you'll find he's as country as you get); 6 cousins-(Shannon, Lee, Whitney,
Charlene, Brian, and Chopper).
-
Pop calls me: Son, Boy, Monkey, Clem, Dweeb,
or "You li'l Wimp."
-
Dad met my Mom in Germany when he was stationed in Frankfurt with the US
Army. They met at a dance club called "Toppers" right near the Caserne
where my Pops lived. It's kinda neat, I've been to see the place they met
( I was there when I was little -- now it's a Chi Chi's ). They were
married on June 25th (and 26th), 1975 in Germany. ( When looking at their
wedding pictures when I was little, I angrily demanded, "Mom! What's wrong
with your scrapbook? Where are all the pictures of ME at your wedding?"
Anyhow, they have a sweet love story... They're always so cute together,
whether they're walking the dog in town holding hands, or just sitting
home watching movies and playing cards... They have the kind of love that
is also a lifetime friendship. I hope that my wife and I will be in love
like that.
-
Dad's pride and joy is Sunny, his golden 1967 GTO. He got it when he was
in Germany, and my parents actually rode away from their wedding in it...
It's a magnificent car, but over the years, it's gotten a little worn,
and Dad's just now putting it back together. Hopefully he'll have it up
so he can drag race with it someday...
And now a little about my "Brother"
RILEY
Isn't he the cutest? I love it, whenever I come home he sleeps in my bed. I LOVE MY DOG!!!
